A soft stretchy headband can look beautiful on every hair type. As your child starts going to school, plastic U-shaped headbands can be bought. Most of the headbands are wrapped in ribbon so as to provide comfort, style, and grip to help them stay in place. Hair Clips: Baby hair clips come in many varieties. They are available in many shapes, sizes, and color. Alligator clips with attached medium to large sized bows are some of the most sought after and a good match for all hair types. These can be fixed to the side of a child’s head. A clip can be fixed above forehead to keep the hair fixed. Clips in the form of claws help in holding the hair between the clip teeth. Hair Elastics are another type of child hair accessory. It is better to avoid rubber elastics as they tend to tear or pull a child’s hair. Cotton elastics are more preferable. Select smaller ones as bigger ones need to be wrapped many times over. Ribbons are the most common hair accessory of a girl child. Try purchasing varied colored ribbons that are available in different materials. It is wiser to choose shorter ribbons so as to avoid any untoward incident of strangulation or choking. With all these hair accessories, the baby is bound to feel special. Only if your baby has a good, healthy and bouncy hair, will these accessories look good on them. So, it is also important to take care of your baby’s hair. The hair must be groomed on a regular basis. They must be shampooed at least once a week. The shampoo used must be not too strong and should not contain harmful chemicals. It is better to use baby shampoo. The simple act of taking care of your baby’s hair and then selecting all sorts of hair accessories will make you feel inordinately happy. Also, while selecting hair accessory do not forget to consider your baby’s hair type and texture.
